Return of Tsering, Pokahara, Bhaktapur, My SmallHelp

On Nov 20th After I returned to KTM I went to the zoo. There weren't many animals and the trip was short. We only spent two and half hours in there.

On Nov 23rd Tsering came back! Tsering has come back to Nepal after 10 years studying in the USA. (high school, bachelors, and MPA). She just came back from visiting our friend Ten in Korea for a month. We finally had a chance to catch up!

Nov 26-28th. I had gone with a friend and her family to visit Pokahara. We drove about 5-6 hours to get there. We had gone for the ceremonial opening of the National Industrial Trade Fair. Happy Thanksgiving! Later on Thanksgiving I got a midnight phone call from my family. One of the highlights was waking up at 5am to see the sunrise of the Annapurna Mountains. Which are so beautiful in the morning!

Pokahara is a great place for tourists and there are a lot of things to do. There are many restaurants by the lake and where we had dinner at Boomerang. During the dinner there were live performances of traditional Nepali dancers. On the way back to KTM we had stopped for something to eat and we ate fried fish! It was Yummy!

On Dec 2nd, Tsering and I went with friends on a road trip. We ended up at Bhaktapur but on the way we were in several traffic jams. Here is what we saw.

Me running away from the cow! It moved while we were taking a picture.

Bhaktapur is listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO for its rich culture, temples, and wood, metal and stone artwork.

Dec 4th My first visit at MySmallhelp. http://mysmallhelp.org/index.php
The office is located in Patan. I met Lucy, Pramila, Raju and Januka. They were so warm and welcoming! I got a chance to visit the orphanage/school. The kids were great and we played hot potato. This is one of the non-profits where I will volunteer at.
